Brushy, brushy, brushy! I adore the brushstrokes, here! My eyes landed on those engines glowing around the foreground, and then to the hectic action going on in this battle. Also, that planet is pretty~
I actually didn't notice the emerging spaceship until I read that DD blurb! (Congratulations, on that, by the way!) And oh, that detail just cinches the whole thing! This... this is just so cool~! Well, it's "cool", plus a zillion others words I'd love to use to describe your work, but don't want to waste space by typing down...
This is amazing! I love how you've managed to achieve so much depth with simplicity and technique. The colours are vibrant but they don't distract from the scene, I really feel like I'm looking out a window or something! Well done!
I don't know if you are familiar with the work of John Berkley, but as soon as I saw this piece, I was strongly reminded of his work. His cover illustrations for science fiction paperbacks in the 60's, 70's and 80's were unmistakable and unforgettable. In addition to the sheer impact his paintings had, his work was noteworthy for being far ahead of it's time in terms of vision and design. He seemed to be able to see deeply into the future, and perceive how starships, space stations, etc. were actually likely to look, as opposed to the highly stylized, and often simplistic designs prevalent at the time.
You have quite a talent. Your work covers a wide range of subjects and styles. I spent more time looking at your art, and so did not check to see if you are a professional. You certainly have the ability to be one.
